President Nicusor Dan said that Romania is ready to offer an attractive environment for investment and supports the creation of a common regional market for the eight countries located along the Carpathian Mountains, following his participation in the Carpathian Integration Initiative Summit.
'The Carpathian Initiative Summit I attended in recent days also had an important economic dimension for the eight countries located along the Carpathian Mountains: Austria, Czechia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Hungary and Ukraine. We emphasised the opportunity to build a common regional market based on mutual trust and connectivity. Romania is ready to offer an attractive environment for investment, benefiting from the strategic position of the Port of Constanta, its rapidly developing road infrastructure, as well as huge potential in cutting-edge fields such as the defence industry, technology and nuclear energy,' the President wrote on Facebook.
According to a video message published by the head of state, he told summit participants that Romania is open to investment and stressed the need to connect the countries in the region through road infrastructure and energy networks.
'And on behalf of Romania, I can tell you directly that we are fully open to your investments in Romania. (...) As public authorities, we have to do two things. First, we need to connect our countries through roads and energy networks. And secondly, we need to increase the level of trust. I believe that the political meeting we held this morning is a sign that we trust one another,' the head of state said.
Nicusor Dan said that, before attending the economic forum, he stopped in Polianitia, where he met with Romanians from Transcarpathia to discuss the community's needs and the preservation of their national identity.
