President Iohannis grants rank of ambassador to several diplomats
President Klaus Iohannis signed on Friday several decrees granting the rank of ambassador to several diplomats, according to an announcement by the Presidential Administration.
Among those to whom President Klaus Iohannis has granted the diplomatic rank of ambassador is Brandusa-Ioana Predescu, Romania's ambassador to Bulgaria.
The head of state granted the diplomatic rank of Ambassador to: Daniela Mihaela Camarasan, Daniela-Laura Popescu, Sebastian Mitrache, Brandusa-Ioana Predescu, Adriana-Loreta Stanescu, Irina-Raluca Zidaru.
According to the law, the diplomatic rank of ambassador is granted by decree, by the President of Romania, on the proposal of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps of Romania may acquire the following ranks: diplomatic - ambassador, minister plenipotentiary, minister-counsellor, diplomatic counsellor, secretary I, secretary II, secretary III, diplomatic attaché and consular - consul general, consul, vice-consul, consular agent.
