President Nicusor Dan on Thursday nominated MEP Eugen Tomac for the post of prime minister.
Under the Constitution, the prime minister-designate must seek Parliament's vote of confidence on the government's programme and the full list of cabinet members within 10 days of being nominated, agerpres reports.
The government's programme and proposed cabinet will be debated in a joint sitting of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. Parliament grants confidence to the government by a majority vote of deputies and senators.
