As of 21:00hrs EEST on Sunday, 9,571,740 voters voted in the first round of the presidential election rerun, making up 53.21% of the number of the voters on the electoral rolls, according to data provided in real time by the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP), informs Agerpres.
In urban areas, 5,767,376 voters voted, and in rural areas, 3,804,364 voters.
As many as 86,034 voters used the mobile ballot box.
Of the 9,571,740 voters who voted as of 21:00hrs, 8,598,611 voted in the country, namely 47.80%, and 973,129 voted abroad.
Voting abroad started on Friday at 07:00hrs, local, and will end on Sunday at 21:00hrs, EEST.
High voter turnouts were recorded in the counties:
* Ilfov - 68.12% of the total voters on rolls;
* Giurgiu - 59.41%;
* Arges - 54.71%;
* Cluj - 55.99%;
* Olt - 53.17%.
Low voter turnouts were recorded in the following counties:
* Vaslui - 32.72% of the total voters on rolls;
* Satu Mare - 36.39%;
* Covasna - 38.56%;
* Botosani - 37.91%
* Maramures - 40.72%.
In Bucharest, the voter turnout was 50.65% as follows:
* Sector 1 - 58.08%;
* Sector 2 - 52.16%;
* Sector 3 - 42.39%;
* Sector 4 - 52.79%;
* Sector 5 - 47.49%;
* Sector 6 - 56.32%.

In 2024, in the first round of the presidential election, which was later cancelled, the turnout was 52.40% on Sunday at 21:00hrs.
