Road traffic is still closed on the A2 (between Bucharest and Constanta) and A4 (between Ovidiu and Agigea) motorways and on 11 national road sections in the blizzard-hit counties, while on 13 road sectors restrictions were maintained for heavy-duty vehicles, the National Road Traffic Management Company (CNAIR) announced on Tuesday evening.
According to CNAIR, on Tuesday, from 13:00 to 18:00, a total of 1,112 snow-clearing vehicles intervened at the national level and 1,798 tonnes of anti-skid materials were spread.
Starting at 23:00 on Tuesday, the Code Yellow for snowfalls, blizzard and gusts of 45 - 55 km per hour, valid for Muntenia, Dobrogea and the southern part of Moldova and Oltenia, came into force. Also starting at 6:00 am today, the Code Orange for wind gusts, heavy blizzard and low visibility in the counties of Giurgiu, Calarasi, Ialomita, Buzau, Braila, Constanta and Tulcea came into force, the road company adds.
