As many as 49 cases of measles were reported in Romania in September 2025, most of them coming from Vaslui County (7), according to the National Institute of Public Health (INSP).
Between January 1, 2023 and September 30,2025, Romania reported 35,633 confirmed cases of measles, including 30 deaths (five in Bucharest, four in Brasov County, three in Giurgiu County, two each in the counties of Arges, Iasi, Suceava, and Satu Mare and one each in the counties of Mures, Sibiu, Buzau, Constanta, Alba, Ialomita, Vaslui, Bacau, Bihor and Botosani.
According to INSP, data from the Electronic National Vaccination Registry (RENV) show that between September 1 and 30, 23,296 doses of MMR vaccine from the national stock were used for immunisation against measles.
