Seventh-seeded Irina Begu of Romania on Sunday defeated Germany's Julia Goerges, world number 45, 6-3 7-5 in the BRD Bucharest Open 2017 women's singles final to become the second Romanian to lift the trophy of the 226,750 USD clay-court tournament, after Simona Halep's victories in 2014 and 2016.
