The number of passengers registered at Romanian airports in the first half of 2024 increased by 5% from the same period in 2023, with 7% of them having flown domestically, Chairman of the Romanian Airports Association (AAR) David Ciceo said on Tuesday in a press statement.
As against H1 2019, in the same period of 2024, the number of passengers registered at Romanian airports increased by 10.5%.
"Of the 11,857,773 passengers who transited through Romanian airports in the first six months of 2024, 7% flew domestically. In the first half of 2024, 112,916 aircraft movements (landings and take-offs) were recorded and 27,292 tonnes of cargo were shipped," according to Ciceo.
