The Romanian Customs Authority has launched a restricted tender for the purchase of X-ray scanners for baggage control, part of a project to strengthen integrated control capacity. The total estimated value of the contract is RON 6.7 million (VAT excluded).
According to the announcement published in the Electronic Public Procurement System (SEAP), the procedure covers the supply of X-ray control equipment, divided into two lots.
The first lot, for portable Backscatter X-ray scanners, is valued at RON 5.05 million (VAT excluded). The second lot, for fixed low-energy baggage scanners, is estimated at RON 1.65 million (VAT excluded).
The contract falls under the defense and security category and is subject to special execution conditions, as the Romanian Customs Authority is part of structures ensuring national and European security, including NATO. Access to detailed documentation is restricted to companies meeting security requirements, including holding or obtaining industrial security authorization.
The deadline for submitting bids or requests to participate is February 23, 2026, at 2:43 p.m., for all lots.
