Romgaz recorded a consolidated net profit of 3.219 billion RON in 2024, up by almost 15%, namely 407.32 million RON, compared to the previous year, according to a report submitted on Friday to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
In 2023, the company recorded a consolidated net profit of 2.812 billion RON.
According to the cited source, a significant positive influence was the elimination of the solidarity contribution as of 2024 (in Q4, 2023, it amounted to 1.687 billion RON).
In 2024, Romgaz estimates a consolidated turnover of 7.93 billion RON, down by 11.9% compared to 2023, when the company's turnover amounted to 9 billion RON. "The decrease in turnover stems from a 15.23% decrease in revenues from the sale of natural gas and a 7.72% decrease in revenues from the sale of electricity," the report said.
Total revenues are lower in 2024 by 1.066 billion RON, down 11.1% to 8.546 billion RON, due to factors such as a 15% decrease in turnover from natural gas sales to 6.584 billion RON in 2024 from 7.766 billion RON in the previous year, mainly due to lower prices. "Quantitatively, deliveries were 1.03% higher compared to 2023," the report said.
At the same time, the turnover from the sale of electricity also decreased (375.54 million RON in 2024 compared to 406.98 million RON in the previous year), while the turnover from storage services increased by 3.31% (570.46 million RON in 2024 compared to 552.19 million RON in 2023), as a result of the increase in consolidated revenues from capacity reservation and extraction.
