The Royal Family of Romania visited on Wednesday several facilities of the Romanian Post National Company (CNPR), the national postal operator said in a release.
"The Royal Family's visit to the Romanian Post carries strong symbolic value, bringing together two institutions emblematic for the history and continuity of the Romanian state. With more than 160 years of tradition, the Romanian Post has played a key role in connecting and developing the Romanian society through every major stage of the country's modernization. Alongside the Royal House - a landmark of institutional stability - the Romanian Post shares core values such as responsibility, trust and service to citizens. This visit is both an honor and an encouragement to continue our company's modernization," said the company's general director Valentin Stefan, as quoted in the release, agerpres reports.
Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu visited Post Office No. 2 on Ion Mihalache Boulevard, recently modernized and aligned with the company's new visual identity.
The program also included the Bucharest Regional Logistics and Courier Hub, a strategic facility recently upgraded and re-engineered. The Royal Family was briefed on operational processes and investments aimed at modernizing logistics infrastructure and increasing the company's processing and distribution capacity. "This logistics hub is a central element of the nationwide investment and digitalisation program worth over 30 million euros, through which the Romanian Post is modernizing its regional network and strengthening operational capacity," the company noted.
Another highlight of the visit was the planting of an oak tree in the courtyard of the Romanian Post - a symbolic gesture reflecting stability, endurance and institutional continuity.
CNPR recently announced that it has become, for the first time in its history, an official supplier to the Royal House of Romania for correspondence services, while the Stamp Factory received the same designation for philatelic products.
The Romanian Post currently operates a network of over 5,000 postal units nationwide, distributing more than 11 million items each week.
