Authorities in Suceava ordered the closure of schools in four administrative units on Thursday morning following a drone attack alert, representatives of the Suceava Prefect's Office told AGERPRES.
According to them, school classes in the Solca, Arbore, Botosana and Cacica areas had been suspended until 10:00 am.
The radar surveillance system of the Ministry of National Defence detected an aerial target on Thursday morning that entered Romanian national airspace through northern Botosani County. It remained in Romanian national airspace for approximately four minutes before crashing near the town of Solca, Suceava County, without causing casualties or material damage.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of National Defence, intervention teams from the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrived at the scene, secured the area and identified a small drone. There was no fire at the crash site.
