Romanian tennis player Jaqueline Cristian (no. 42 WTA) was eliminated on Thursday in the first round of the WTA 1,000 tournament in Beijing (China), with total prizes of 8,963,700 dollars, after she unexpectedly lost easily, in two sets, 6-4, 6-0, to Spain's Jessica Bouzas (no.48 WTA).
Cristian had also been eliminated in the first round a week ago, in Seoul, by the British player of Romanian origin Emma Raducanu, 6-3, 6-4.
Gabriela Ruse qualified on Thursday for the second round of the tournament in the Chinese capital after defeating Slovakian Rebecca Sramkova 6-2, 6-2, and on Wednesday, Sorana Cirstea defeated Caroline Dolehide (U.S.) in the first round, 6-2, 6-3.
