The work "Lilac on Green Satin" by Theodor Aman auctioned for 115,000 euros

The work "Lilac on Green Satin" by Theodor Aman was sold for 115,000 euros at the summer auction organized on Thursday evening by Artmark at the Cesianu-Racovita Palace and online, on the Artmark Live platform.

The session included a selection of over 200 works, the painting signed by Theodor Aman and dated 1885 being the best-seller at the 600th anniversary session organized by Artmark. It was estimated at a price of 70,000-120,000 euros.

According to the auction results, among the works awarded at high prices were: "Atmosfera diluata" [Dilluted Atmosphere] by Ion Tuculescu, sold for 92,500 euros, "Interior la Rucar" [Interior at Rucar] by Nicolae Grigorescu, sold for 47,500 euros, "Scena de gen"/"Gender Scene" ("În casa negustorului"/"At the Merchant's House") by Corneliu Baba, sold for 46,000 euros, "Pie fight" by Adrian Ghenie, sold for 32,500 euros, "Dupa ploaie la Baneasa" [After the Rain at Baneasa] by Stefan Luchian, sold for 25,000 euros, "Trandafiri" ["Roses"] by Theodor Aman and "La malul marii" ["At the Seaside"] by Camil Ressu, each sold for 20,000 euros.

On June 24, Artmark is organizing the history auction, including an archive of the Petru Groza family, as well as a section dedicated to the Centennial of the Romanian Patriarchate, and on June 26, a session of ancient Romanian art.
