The work "Traveler with Wings"/"Calator cu aripi" signed by artist Stefan Caltia was sold on Thursday evening for 33,000 euros at the post-war and contemporary art auction organized by Artmark at the Cesianu-Racovita Palace in Bucharest.
The painting had been estimated at 30,000-50,000 euros at the session that included almost 190 lots.
Among the others works that were purchased for high amounts were "Melancholie"/"Melancolie" by Sabin Balasa, sold for 20,000 euros, "Phantastic world"/"Lume fantastica" by Sabin Balasa and "Blue Cadillac" by Gheorghe Fikl, each sold for 10,000 euros, "Horizon at Balcic"/"Orizont la Balcic" by Felix Aftene, sold for 9,000 euros and a folder with 50 screen prints by Sorin Ilfoveanu, sold for 5,000 euros.
