The three-month ROBOR index, based on which the cost of consumer loans in lei with variable interest is calculated, fell on Monday to 6.34% per year, from 6.35% per year in the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
At the beginning of this year, the index was 5.92% per year.
The six-month index, used in calculating interest on mortgage loans in lei with variable interest, fell to 6.48% per year, from 6.50%, and the 12-month ROBOR fell to 6.68% from 6.70%.
Regarding the consumer credit reference index (IRCC), regulated by GEO 19/2019, it is 6.06% per year, calculated as the arithmetic average of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in the second quarter of 2025, the highest level recorded so far by it.
