Two AGERPRES editors nominated for Professional Journalists Union of Romania (UZPR) Excellence in Journalism awards

Two editors from AGERPRES National News Agency, Cristian Lupascu and Ecaterina Ignat, have been nominated for the Professional Journalists Union of Romania (UZPR) Excellence in Journalism awards.

Cristian Lupascu, AGERPRES correspondent in Botosani and reporter in Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, who was previously awarded the Montecatini prize, has been nominated in the War Correspondent category, while Ecaterina Ignat, AGERPRES correspondent in Braila, has been nominated in the Online category, UZPR reported.

The announcement and presentation of the awards will take place during a dedicated gala, UZPR added.

Held under the motto "Excellence in Journalism," the UZPR awards recognise the most significant achievements in Romanian-language media during the current and previous year, both within Romania and in the diaspora.

Awards will be presented in the following categories: Print Press, Online Press, Radio, Television, Press Management, Books on the Journalism Profession, War Journalism, Debut in Press, Photojournalism, Branch of the Year (awarded by the jury to the branch hosting the most journalism-related events in 2025), as well as an "Opera Omnia" prize.
