Two people pay 546 euros on average for holiday at Romanian seaside

The average value of a holiday on the Romanian coast was 546 euros for two people this year, and the average length of a stay was 4.8 nights, according to data centralised by a tour operator specialising in domestic summer destinations, told Agerpres.

According to Litoralulromanesc.ro, the average budget paid in 2023 for a seaside holiday was similar to that recorded in 2022.

Of the total bookings, 26% were paid with holiday vouchers and the average length of stay was 4.8 nights.

The quoted data reveal that for the nearly 12,000 tourists who provided feedback at the end of their stays on the coast, the cleanliness of the hotels was rated 8.59 out of 10, the service received - 8.28, the location of the hotel - 8.99, the hotel staff - 8.56, the quality-price ratio - 8.15, and the equipment of the accommodation units - 7.82.

However, the tourists' opinions on how they interacted with the agency's travel advisors exceed the average of 9 in all the categories analysed, namely responsiveness, friendliness, information provided, procedure and recommendation.

More than 36% of all those who chose the Romanian seaside this summer are from the Capital. Following on the second place is Prahova county, with 5.92% of all tourists who came to the seaside, and third comes Cluj county, with 5.27% of the total. The ranking continues, in order, with Timis (5.20%), Brazov (4.44%), Iaşsi (4.30%), Arges (2.75%), Bacau (2.14%), Dolj (2.14%) and Suceava (2.10%).

At the opposite pole are Tulcea, Ialomita, Mehedinti and Salaj counties, which together do not add up two percent.

According to the survey, the main category of tourists who choose the Black Sea resorts as a holiday destination, or 68% of the total, are families, followed by couples, with 22% of the total.

Regarding the ranking by "age" criterion, 41.9% of tourists who prefer Romanian seaside resorts are between 25 and 44 years old, 28% between 45 and 54 years old, and 12% are seniors in the age category 55 - 64 years old.

The tour operator mentions that some tourists have already started to take an interest in buying stays at the Black Sea for next summer, and most of the offers will be available at the end of September through the "Early Booking" programme, in order to benefit from advantages such as a discount of up to 50% and the possibility to pay the package in instalments.

Litoralulromanesc.ro, owned by the company Creative Eye SRL from Constanta, with entirely Romanian private capital, is the largest holiday retailer in the local Black Sea resorts, both in terms of number of tourists and sales.

The portal promotes over 500 accommodation structures in 13 resorts on the Romanian coast, from one-star to five-star units.
