Ukraine's State Border Guard Service officials visiting Bucharest

A delegation of Ukraine's State Border Guard Service today is on a working visit to the headquarters of Romania's General Anti-Corruption Directorate (DGA) in order to establish common measures within the limits of national legislation to facilitate the documentation of crimes related to smuggling and corruption.

According to a DGA press release, during the meeting, at the proposal of Ukrainian officials common methods of action were established, within the limits of the powers of the two bodies, taking into account the tendency of international organised crime groups to create new criminal schemes on the Ukrainian-Romanian segment of the state border.

Co-operation with the Ukrainian body are based on the Co-operation Protocol between the General Anti-Corruption Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Romania and Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, signed in Bucharest on December 5, 2018.

Welcoming the Ukrainian delegation, led by Yurii Zhiuzhiko, director of the Operative-Investigative Department of Ukraine's State Border Guard Service, was Deputy Director General of the General Anti-Corruption Directorate Manela Elena Popescu, and heads of DGA departments tackling corruption.
