The unemployment rate registered in the records of the Bucharest Municipal Agency for Employment (AMOFM) in May 2025 stood at 0.61%, down by 1.61% compared to the previous month, when it was 0.62%.
According to an AMOFM press release sent to AGERPRES, on Monday at the end of May, 7,745 unemployed were registered in the agency's records (of whom 4,427 were women), with an unemployment rate of 0.61%.
Of the total of 7,745 persons registered in the records of AMOFM Bucharest, 1,538 were recipients of unemployment benefits and 6,207 were unemployed without benefits.
By residence, all the 7,745 unemployed persons are from urban areas.
Unemployed persons with high school education have the highest share in the total number of unemployed persons registered in the AMOFM Bucharest (38.23%), followed by those with higher education (26.25%), and 16.92% have graduated from vocational/arts/trades and crafts school. The unemployed with middle school education represent 15.62% of the total number of registered unemployed, those with post-secondary education stand at 2.17%, while those with primary education and without education, 0.81%.
By level of employability, established by profiling, the structure is as follows: 1,256 persons very hard to employ, 2,375 hard to employ, 2,312 averagely employable, and 1,802 are easily employable.
By age groups, the unemployment structure is as follows: under 25 years - 226 people; between 25 - 29 years - 493 people; between 30 - 39 years - 2,123 people; between 40 - 49 years - 1,801 people; between 50 - 55 years - 1,570 people; over 55 years - 1,532 people
