208 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 last week

The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) informed on Thursday that, between November 25 and December 1, 208 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were recorded, marking a 13.7% increase compared to the previous week.

According to INSP, 64 of the new cases are in patients who were reinfected, testing positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

Between November 25 and December 1, two deaths were reported among people with COVID-19, who had comorbidities.

To date, 69,227 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.

So far, Romania has recorded 3,581,423 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

In the past week, 615 RT-PCR tests and 8,808 rapid antigen tests were performed. The positivity rate was 2.2%, an increase of 0.2%.

To date, a total of 14,035,412 RT-PCR tests and 15,102,570 rapid antigen tests have been processed at the national level.
