An average earthquake with a 4.6 Richter degrees magnitude occurred on Sunday evening in the Vrancea seismic area, with no material damage or victims registered, the Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations (IGSU) informs.
The earthquake occurred at a 140-km depth.
"Up to this moment, no emergency calls have been received via 112, and no material damages or victims have been reported. Operational teams from ISU Bucharest-Ilfov and ISU Vrancea are conducting field reconnaissance," according to information released by IGSU.
The quoted source also specifies that, in the case of earthquakes, the RO-ALERT system will not issue notifications prior to their occurrence.
"After the earthquake occurs, if it causes serious consequences, warning messages may be sent to the population, including appropriate protective measures (for example: emergency aid distribution points)," IGSU also said.
