The total number of beneficiaries of the social allowance for pensioners in November 2024 stood at 919,906, which is 5,959 less than the previous month, according to data collected by the National House of Public Pensions (CNPP).
Of these, 829,495 were pensioners from the public system, while 90,411 were pensioners from the former agricultural pension system.
For pensioners in the public system, the average value of the allowance supported by the state budget was 527 lei. The highest amounts were recorded in the counties of Maramures (612 lei), Hunedoara (598 lei), Cluj (595 lei), Bistrita-Nasaud, and Prahova (586 lei).
The highest number of beneficiaries of this allowance were in Bucharest - 38,663, and in the counties of Suceava (34,739 pensioners), Iasi (30,737), Dolj (29,661), Prahova (27,487), and Bacau (26,889).
As for agricultural pensioners, the average social allowance supported by the state budget was 342 lei, with the highest value recorded in the counties of Ilfov (482 lei), Gorj (443 lei), Hunedoara (422 lei), and Sector 2 of the Capital (438 lei).
According to the quoted source, the largest number of beneficiaries among agricultural pensioners was recorded in Iasi County (6,318 people), followed by the counties of Botosani (5,952), Dolj (5,790), Olt (5,269), and Teleorman (5,203).
CNPP mentions that beneficiaries of the public pension system, whose combined pension and allowance income is below 1,281 lei, receive this amount monthly, called "Social allowance for pensioners," according to the provisions of Law no. 196/2009, with subsequent amendments and additions.
