The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) reported on Tuesday that during the week of May 19-25, a total of 60 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection were recorded in Romania, marking a 15.5% decrease compared to the previous week.
According to the INSP, 19 of these new cases were in reinfected patients, who tested positive more than 90 days after their initial infection.
No COVID-19-related deaths were reported last week.
So far, 69,259 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.
To date, Romania has recorded a total of 3,583,871 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
In the past week, 253 RT-PCR tests and 2,949 rapid antigen tests were performed. The positivity rate was 1.9%.
A total of 14,050,284 RT-PCR tests and 15,355,598 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide up to date.
