The President of the Senate, Anca Dragu (Save Romania Union - Party of Liberty, Unity and Solidarity Alliance - USR PLUS), declared on Friday, in Craiova, where she visited the "St. Mina" Special Secondary School, that people with special needs need more support so they could be integrated into society, and social inclusion is a very important point on the USR PLUS agenda.
"When we talk about the problems of people with special needs, we also discuss the way in which, with the law in hand, we can help these people. (...) Social inclusion is a very important topic on the USR-PLUS agenda. Not only did I think about these measures of social assistance and social inclusion in the governing program, but, as a parliamentarian, I understood during my weekly online hearings that this problem is a very serious one: about 80% of those who intervene in the weekly hearings, bringing to my attention issues in the area of protecting people with special needs," Anca Dragu told a press conference at the USR-PLUS headquarters in Craiova.
The President of the Senate says that the change of mentalities is the most difficult part of the process of supporting this category of people, agerpres.ro.
She stressed that USR PLUS parliamentarians will propose laws that cover all the needs of these people and will support changes in mentalities at the level of society, so that people with special needs can integrate more easily in society.
