AUR MPs protest in Chamber plenary meeting.

Several Alliance for Romanians' Union (AUR) deputies sat in front of the Chamber's plenary platform on Wednesday, protesting against the drafts on the agenda, including those on the organisation of the activities to prevent the separation of children from their families and the governance of state-owned companies, told Agerpres.

Chamber Deputy Speaker Ciprian Serban opened the meeting standing up.

He announced that the urban mobility bill goes straight to the final vote, asking AUR Chairman George Simion to take his place.

"We skip the debate, the draft goes to the final vote," said Serban.

The AUR leader asked the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu, to be present at the meeting.

The leader of the Save Romania Union (USR) deputies, Ionut Mosteanu, pointed out that there is a need for debate on the bills.

"USR voted for the removal from the agenda of the draft on the governance of state-owned companies, companies that are badly run, it is the milestone of the PNRR [the National Recovery and Resilience Plan], but there is a need for debate. What happened with the regulation was not in order. We had amendments, we couldn't support them, I appeal to all parliamentarians, especially new ones, first term. And I tell you one thing: I remember the first days in Parliament and yes, we thought that we could stop the PSD [the Social Democratic Party] roller, which at that time belonged to Dragnea. And every time when we attacked them at the CCR [the Constitutional Court of Romania], they won. Today, let's not give the PSD and PNL [the National Liberal Party] the opportunity to pass their projects without debate," said Mosteanu.

He said that these are delicate bills, but they must be debated.

After several protests, the AUR MPs returned to their seats and the debates on the bills were resumed, but they went to the platform again to express their dissatisfaction with the draft on the organisation of activities to prevent the separation of children from their families.
