The chairman of The Alliance for the Union of Romania (AUR), George Simion, emphasized on Thursday, at a round table devoted to Romanian-Polish friendship, the important role of Central and Eastern Europe in the continuation of projects such as the Three Seas Initiative, the European region of the Carpathians and the expansion of the Visegrad Group.
"Central and Eastern Europe has a strong voice, we will continue projects such as the Three Seas Initiative, the European region of the Carpathians and the expansion of the Visegrad Group. Also, it is not only about my country or only about Poland, it is about our region, we must move towards our Hungarian, Slovak friends, the Czech Republic and Serbia," Simion said at the event organised at the Palace of Parliament.
He mentioned that an important pillar of the debate was the "rejection of cultural dictatorship", adding that Romania and Poland are among the few countries that have refused "LGBTQ propaganda" in schools and the recognition of same-sex marriages.
"An important pillar of our round table is the refusal of cultural dictatorship. Romania and Poland are among the few countries that have refused LGBTQ propaganda in schools and the recognition of same-sex marriages. The Woke agenda should be stopped here in the East. The West has lost its compass, but together we can achieve great things and together we can make Europe great again. Now is the time to make this vision a reality, it is time to strengthen our alliance, to work together, to build a safer future, more prosperous, for our peoples," Simion said.
The AUR leader also stated that he is confident in the strategic partnership between Romania and Poland, stressing that it must be expanded at all levels.
"In my capacity as president of the Romanian-Polish Parliamentary Friendship Group, as the leader of the Romanian people, I believe in the strategic partnership between Romania and Poland and I believe in the future of our nations based on our historical relations. But to realize all this potential we must act firmly, we must expand our cooperation not only in the political and diplomatic field, but also at the economic and cultural level. We must make sure that our resources are used in the national interest," said Simion.
The "Romanian-Polish Friendship" round table was organized in Parliament by the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Republic of Poland, together with the Committee for Constitutionality.
