For two days, the Plescoi Sausage Festival will take place in Berca, an event with free admission, where visitors can taste traditional products, such as Plescoi sausages, babic salami and ghiudem sausages, as well as culinary dishes cooked on the spot.
Between September 26 and 28, in the small town of Berca, Buzau County, the 12th edition of the Plescoi Sausage Festival, a Romanian product recognized and protected in the European Union, will take place.
"The Plescoi Sausage Festival, one of the most beloved holidays of our county, brings to the fore this year the local gastronomic heritage, but also the warm and welcoming spirit of Buzau Land. I invite you to celebrate together the authentic Romanian taste in a festive atmosphere and respect for the values that define us," interim Chair of the Buzau County Council Adrian Robert Petre said on Wednesday in a press statement.
Certified local producers will be present with traditional products, such as Plescoi sausages, babic salami, sheep pastrami, ghiudem, and also other local dishes. In order to offer an authentic and complete culinary experience, other products such as wines, cheeses, bee products and culinary recipes will be presented and prepared under the eyes of visitors.
Selling stands will be completed by workshops for children 'Tradition goes on', where children will be able to prepare with their own hands the famous sausages of Plescoi, which they will prepare and taste at the end of the workshop; workshops for children 'Walking Laboratory' from the UNESCO Geopark Tinutul Buzaului, tasting of traditional products, folk crafts, Museum bus, photo corner - guests will be able to take pictures in a traditional setting.
Being a festival for a wide audience, organisers will also set up a stand for the promotion of tourism in Buzau County. The goal is to present the entire tourist and cultural offer of Buzau County to as many visitors as possible
Visitors' access to the event is free.
