Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan declared on Friday that, under normal conditions, mayoral elections, even the Capital City's, should not have a direct effect on the governing coalition.
"Under normal conditions, elections at a mayoralty, even at the most important mayoralty in Romania, should not have a direct effect on the governing coalition, because this same coalition established that the elections would take place, as the law provides, indeed, it established the date of the elections and, of course, in principle a civilized manner of campaigning was agreed upon. To what extent it is carried out, in this form or not, that is for you and the citizens to judge," Bolojan said, agerpres reports.
He responded this way when asked, in a press conference at Victoria Palace, if the fate of the Government would be decided by the result of Sunday's elections for the Capital City Hall.
