Bucharest Stock Exchange closes lower in first trading session of August

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) closed lower on most indices during Friday's trading session, with a total transaction value of RON 663.258 million (EUR 130.639 million).

This transaction value includes the public takeover offer for Purcari Wineries shares, valued at RON 604.281 million.

The main BVB index, BET, which tracks the 20 most traded companies listed on the Regulated Market, declined by 0.26% compared to the previous day, closing at 20,136.61 points. The BET-Plus index, reflecting the performance of the 43 most liquid stocks on the exchange, also closed down by 0.24%.

The extended blue-chip index, BET-XT, comprising the 25 most liquid shares, recorded a 0.23% decrease, while the SIF index, BET-FI, rose by 0.26%.

Meanwhile, the BET-BK index, a benchmark for investment funds, fell by 0.38%, and BET-NG, which tracks the performance of ten energy and utilities companies, increased by 0.11%.

The BET AeRO index, including 20 representative companies from the AeRO market, closed down by 0.1%.

The most actively traded shares were those of Banca Transilvania, with transactions totaling RON 20.59 million, followed by OMV Petrom with nearly RON 4.19 million, and Fondul Proprietatea with RON 3.78 million.

The best performers of the day were Aeta (+14.94%), Green Tech International (+11.20%), and Mecanica Ceahlau (+6.93%).

On the other hand, the biggest declines were seen in Condmag (-5%), Artego (-3.17%), and Romcab (-2.89%).
