Bucharest Stock Exchange opens higher

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) opened Thursday's trading session with gains across most indices, with turnover reaching 7.86 million lei (approximately 1.55 million euro) after the first hour of trading.

The BET main index, which tracks the performance of the 20 most liquid companies, recorded an increase of 0.13%, while the BET-Plus index, which includes the 43 most liquid stocks on the BVB, showed a similar rise.

At the same time, the extended blue-chip index BET-XT, which reflects the top 25 most traded shares, gained 0.10%, while the BET-BK, the benchmark index for investment funds, rose 0.15%.

The BET-FI index, which includes the SIFs (Financial Investment Companies), registered a decline of 0.25%, while the BET-NG index, tracking 10 companies in the energy and utilities sector, increased 0.15%.

The BET AeRO index, which covers 20 representative companies from the AeRO market (the exchange's alternative trading system), was up 2.04%.

According to BVB data, the biggest share price increases were recorded by: Armatura (+14.69%), Bittnet (+9.06%), Patria Bank (+3.96%).

Conversely, the largest declines were seen in Casa de Bucovina - Club de Munte (-4.85%), Carbochim (-4.76%), Electromagnetica (-2.91%).
