The Municipality of Chapecó, a city nicknamed the "agri-industrial heart" of southern Brazil, is looking for business, cultural and educational partnerships with cities in Romania and for this purpose a delegation led by a representative of the city's Mayor's Office is currently in Brasov.
The Brasov Mayor's Office informed on Monday that, during the meeting, the representative of the Brazilian city sent the deputy mayor Dan Ghita, who hosted the meeting, the invitation to participate, with representatives of Brasov, in one of the most important international fairs for the food industry in Latin America, Mercoagro, which Chapecó organizes annually.
The delegation led by Helon Rebelatto, representative of the Chapecó Mayor's Office, represents 23 companies from the state of Santa Catarina. The delegation also includes Romania's honorary consul in Santa Catarina, Edson Roberto Dreher.
Chapecó is an agri-industrial city, but also the business tourism capital of the Santa Catarina region, as well as a strong medical center, with approximately 1,100 clinics and medical service providers, and an important university center.
The Brazilian delegates also have meetings scheduled at the Brasov Chamber of Commerce and Industry and with representatives of Transylvania University.
The Brazilian businesspeople and officials are in Romania for 10 days, during which they have similar meetings scheduled in Constanta, Bucharest, Brasov and Cluj-Napoca.
