Chess player Alexandru Calin, master candidate, won on Sunday the International Festival of Moldova, the 2017 edition, in Iasi, gathering a total of 5.5 points of 6 possible, the chess-results.com website informs.
Alexandru Calin, with the Sports Club Bucharest Young Masters led by Elena Cristian, was followed in the ranking by Victor Romcovici from the Republic of Moldova, also with 5.5 points, but with a lower tie coefficient and George Paval, ranked third (with the Sphinx Sports Club in Iasi).
The International Festival of Moldova took place between 31 March and 2 April, and a number of 94 chess players from Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Denmark participated.
The competition was organized by the Iasi County Chess Association.
