The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued on Thursday a Code Orange warning for strong winds, valid until Friday morning, in Caras-Severin county, as well as a Code Yellow for similar phenomena affecting areas in three counties.
According to the specialised forecast, between 10:00 on 4 December and 10:00 on 5 December, Caras-Severin county will be under a Code Orange for strong winds, with gusts of 70-90 km/h and over 120 km/h in high mountain areas.
Moreover, until 22:00 on Thursday, a Code Yellow warning for wind intensification will be in effect in areas of Alba, Hunedoara and Alba counties, where gusts at high altitudes will temporarily exceed 90-110 km/h.
According to meteorologists, between 10:00 on 4 December and 22:00 on 6 December, a notice of temporary wind intensification will be in effect across most regions. Thus, throughout Thursday (4 December) in the south-west and mountainous areas, Friday (5 December) in the south, centre and east, and Saturday (6 December) mainly in the south-east, wind speeds will generally reach 45-55 km/h, with gusts exceeding 60-80 km/h in the mountains, particularly in high-altitude areas.
