The Ministry of Finance is suggesting extending the aid for Romanian hauliers by offsetting the increase in the price of diesel fuel, with the value of the aid being set at RON 0.85 per litre April 1 - December 31.
"The Ministry of Finance has developed a draft piece of legislation amending and supplementing Government Decision 1094/2025, adapting a support mechanism for business operators in the road transport of goods and persons. The draft provides for the extension of the state aid in the form of a grant until April 30, 2027, covering diesel purchased by operators until December 31, 2026. For the interval between April 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026, the value of the state aid is set at RON 0.85 bani per litre, and the payment of the state aid will be made from the budget of the Ministry of Finance - General Actions," according to the government.
The total estimated maximum budget of the state aid scheme is RON 652.195 million, with an estimated 6,200 business economic operators qualifying for the aid.
This is a measure of actual support for Romanian companies in a tense moment of uncertainty on international markets. The aid provided to hauliers translates into an indirect advantage for consumers and for the national economy as a whole, according to Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare.
