The President of the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR), Simina Tanasescu, and the President of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM), Liviu Odagiu, signed an agreement on the digitalization of the flow of information through the interconnection of information systems and the electronic exchange of data in order to relieve administrative burdens in the judicial system.
According to a press release from the CCR sent to AGERPRES on Monday, the signing of this agreement reflects the joint commitment of the institutions involved to adapt to new technologies and modernize the judicial infrastructure, in the sense of eliminating the circulation of files in physical format and optimizing internal processes, all these steps being oriented towards increasing the quality of the public justice service, for the direct benefit of the citizen, as the final recipient of these reforms, by reducing the duration of procedures and streamlining the resolution of cases, agerpres reports.
According to the agreement, the collaboration will be carried out through web services, consisting of the transmission, through the ReJust platform, of the judicial decisions and rulings for the referral of the Constitutional Court issued by the courts, through an interconnection mechanism with the SIGADOC platform.
''Similarly, the Constitutional Court will have access, through the ReJust platform, to the documents in the electronic file related to the cases on its docket, including the procedural acts and relevant documents. Also, the jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court will be made available to the public within the search engine available on rejust.ro. "The institutions undertake to use the data and documents exclusively for the purpose of carrying out their legal duties and to comply with the national and European legislation applicable in the field of personal data protection, as well as the rules regarding information security," the cited source informs.
The agreement is concluded for a period of one year, starting with May 15, and can be extended by law for successive periods of one year, informs the constitutional court.
