The Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) rejected on Wednesday the challenges submitted by the political parties Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), S.O.S. and the Young People's Party (POT) against the Law on streamlining the activity of certain autonomous administrative authorities, CCR officials told AGERPRES.

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan on 1 September said that the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), and the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) must serve as examples of professionalism, efficiency and integrity.

The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) challenged all four laws for which Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan's Government assumed responsibility in Parliament, arguing in its objections that the bills were adopted 'without parliamentary debate, without consulting Romanians, and without a democratic vote.'
