Former Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos announced on Thursday that, in the following period, he will launch an associative structure based on the 'Romania 100' platform and has in intention to collaborate in this regard with the Save Romania Union (USR) and National Liberal Party (PNL). Ciolos has discussed this subject at the Palace of Parliament with the USR deputies. "In the upcoming period I will see it for myself, first of all I need an analysis, which is the best way for me, as a person, to be efficient in the public life. If I will consider entering a political party, will take into discussion this subject, I will see", Ciolos stated at the end of discussions.
Asked whether he will collaborate with PNL and USR, he confirmed it. "Yes, this is what I proposed to them (e.n. - USR) and I will also propose to those from PNL, to the extent that there will be an interest", the former Prime Minister said. According to him, the new structure will not be a political party. "No. This is not my intention. I believe we have already enough political parties, including new political parties. In the current moment, I do not believe that this is the solution. (...) The idea is to develop several areas in which we have launched projects in the period of governing which we wish to see further on", Dacian Ciolos explained.
The former head of the Executive has specified that he wants to thank the persons in the USR and PNL for their support. "Both USR and PNL have supported the Platform 'Romania 100', have supported me in the electoral campaign as a candidate for Prime-Minister and I thought it is of common sense to come and thank them, because I did not have until now, in the period I was at the Government, a meeting neither with USR, nor with PNL after the electoral campaign. A part of them have worked at the Government and we want to have this first discussion. It was the first contact visit on my behalf, I told them my intention is to remain further on involved in the public life, to continue promoting values, principles, projects from the platform 'Romania 100'. We have discussed on the future collaboration. In the next period, I intend to create an associative structure probably starting from the platform 'Romania 100', which would be active publicly and to promote further on values, principles from the platform. It is not a foundation, it will be an association. When it will be ready we will announce. I am doing what I consider I can do in the following period", he also said.
