Romania's economic competitiveness and energy costs are among the issues being examined on Wednesday at a debate organised by the Concordia Employers' Confederation, against the backdrop of negotiations on the European Union's new Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028-2034.
According to the organisers, the discussion is taking place following the public launch of the Manifesto for Romania's Economic Architecture, a document through which the business community, represented by Concordia, is calling on the Government, Parliament and political parties to draw up an action plan for competitiveness at a time when the rules governing the EU's new Multiannual Financial Framework are being negotiated.
The event will address issues including energy costs, industrial competitiveness and agriculture, as well as measures Romania should adopt to move from simply absorbing EU funds towards developing relevant industries.
The debate will be attended by Concordia Board members Ondrej Safar, representing the energy sector, and Mihai Bordeanu, representing the automotive industry, Alexander Degianski, President of the Romanian Farmers' Club (CFRO), and Paul Aparaschivei, Executive Director of the Concordia Employers' Confederation.
