Romania's Defence Minister Ionut Mosteanu is participating today and tomorrow Tuesday in the Security Forum in Warsaw.
According to the Ministry of National Defence (MApN), the Romanian official gave a speech to the panel "Peace through strength: What is Europe's Hard Power?" along with his Polish counterpart, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, Norwegian Minister of Defence Tore O. Sandvik, NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Sekerinska, and Executive Vice-President of AIRBUS Wouter van Wersch.
During the speech and debates, Mosteanu reiterated the importance of consolidating the eastern flank in a unitary manner, especially amidst the amplification of the Russian Federation's incursions with drones and aircraft into the NATO airspace.
At the same time, he welcomed the recent initiative at NATO level - Operation Eastern Sentry, mentioning at the same time the need for the initiatives subsequently launched at the level of the European Union, such as Eastern Flank Watch, to be complementary and synchronised with the NATO ones.
Also, Mosteanu presented the latest developments in Romania in the revision and adaptation of the legal and procedural framework for dealing with drones and manned military aircraft that violate the national airspace.
