The Director of the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI), Eduard Hellvig, has ordered this week sending three communications to the Committee on Parliamentary Control over the SRI's activity on the latest elements appeared in the public space related to the activity of the service.
''The first communication refers to the request of another parliamentary body, the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies' Special Investigation Committee for checking the issues related to the organization of the 2009 elections and the result of the presidential election. In this communication, the SRI motivated the classified nature of the previously submitted documents and brought additions with non-classified elements that could be transmitted by the SRI Control Committee to the Special Commission," the SRI said in a press release.
The second communication refers to the allegations in the public space concerning the management of the SIPA archive, and the SRI has sent full information on this subject to the Committee. According to the quoted source, the last communication refers to the public exposures related to reservist lt.col. Daniel Dragomir's allegations. ''In this case, the SRI requested that the Control Committee transmit any concrete elements held, in order to carry out thorough investigations and investigations within an internal verification committee that was previously ordered by SRI Director Eduard Hellvig. SRI remains firm in terms of institutional transparency and compliance with internal evaluation and control procedures," SRI adds.
