The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) revised down Romania's economic growth forecast for 2025 to 0.9 percent compared to 1.6 percent as estimated in May, according to the "Regional Economic Prospects" report, published on Thursday by the international financial institution.
According to the latest EBRD forecasts, Romania's GDP is expected to register an increase of 0.9 percent this year, 0.7 percentage points lower than the previous estimate of 1.6 percent.
In 2026, Romania's economic growth is expected to reach 1.6 percent, after the EBRD forecasted a 2.4 percent increase in May.
