The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, will request on Friday from all subordinated companies an analysis into the reduction of costs with employees and those with protocols in companies, as well as the plan through which they will do this starting August 1, 2025
As to the reduction in pays and the number of members of the Boards of Directors of companies subordinated to the Ministry of Energy, the minister said that he has already conducted a complex legislative analysis, in order to identify a legal solution in this regard, agerpres reports.
"At the same time, I conducted an analysis of the legislation, a corroboration of about five laws, in which I found the formula by which the number of members of the Board of Directors can be reduced. There are situations in which I am convinced that some companies will be able to function just as well with three or five members, instead of 9, 11 or 17 members on the Board of Directors, and what will be decided at the unitary governmental level - because we are not talking about just one ministry - will require us to change some articles in the Romanian legislation", explained the official.
The minister of Energy recalled that the institution has a milestone in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) that it has not reached, namely 121, where over 240 million euros is blocked.
Minister Ivan argued that the heads of profitable energy companies, where investment projects worth hundreds of millions of euros are being carried out, must be well paid.
"I want us to have very clear indicators where there is someone who took over a company at a loss, made it profitable, has investments, is carrying out investment projects worth hundreds of millions of euros or even billions of euros in the energy sector, from the production, transport and distribution of energy and natural gas. Yes, you need competent people and if they do their job, I agree that they should be well paid," the official pointed out.
On the other hand, in his opinion, the situation will be completely different in unprofitable state-owned companies.
