Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emil Hurezeanu will participate in Brussels on Monday in the meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers - the Foreign Affairs Council (FAC), with discussions focusing on Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and relations with the U.S.
According to a MAE press release on Sunday, discussions regarding Russia's aggression against Ukraine will focus on the latest developments on the ground, as well as on continuing the EU's multidimensional support for Ukraine. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will address the meeting via videoconference.
The discussions on the Middle East will address developments in Syria, Gaza and Lebanon, with an emphasis on short-term measures to support Syria, recent developments related to the signing of the Israel-Hamas agreement, and ways to relaunch the EU-Lebanon partnership.
The exchange of views on EU-US relations will take place in the context of President Donald Trump's assumption of office and will focus on the importance of maintaining a close partnership, as well as on priorities in security and defence.
Additionally, on Tuesday, the Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs will have bilateral meetings with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, with Vice President of the European Commission responsible for social rights and skills, quality jobs and preparedness Roxana Minzatu, and with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos.
