An earthquake with a magnitude of 4 degrees on the Richter scale occurred on Monday morning at 10:14 AM in Vrancea County, in the Vrancea seismic zone, according to information published by the National Institute for Earth Physics Research and Development (INCDFP).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 140 km, near the following cities: 37 kilometres west of Focsani, 72 km north of Buzau, 72 km east of Sfantu Gheorghe, 87 km south of Bacau, 87 km east of Brasov and 88 km southwest of Barlad.
Since the beginning of March, 24 earthquakes with magnitudes between 2 and 4 Richter degrees have been recorded in Romania.
The most significant earthquake of 2024, with a magnitude of 5.4, took place in Buzau County on September 16.
