The Victoria Palace of Government will light up in pink and blue on Wednesday evening, as the government joins the architectural lighting campaign for the observance of the Angels' Parents Day.
The initiative takes place in sign of support and solidarity with the parents whose children died during pregnancy, at birth or before turning 18, the Executive said.
"Beyond the Christian gesture of commemorating innocent lives taken too soon, this campaign raises awareness at a societal level of the suffering of the families who have lost their children, bringing to attention not only the need for prevention and access to quality health services. The recent tragedy in Iasi, which saw several babies die due to bacterial infections, confirms once again the urgent need for reform and accountability which, unfortunately, is still lacking in certain areas of the health system," the cited source reports.
Marked every year on October 15, Angels' Parents Day was created by Law No. 186/2024 as a sign of support with the families bereft of their children and who, according to this law, can receive state-covered psychological counseling to overcome their emotional trauma.
