Modular buildings for the temporary housing of four educational establishments will be made available to local communities in areas ravaged by recent floods,
The government on Monday passed a decision under which modular buildings will be provided by the National Administration of State Reserves and Special Problems.
"The location of the buildings will be established together with the local governments. Each temporarily housed educational establishment will have a capacity of 80 - 100 places. Children from the most affected areas will thus continue education in temporarily arranged spaces, until the situation returns to normal," according to the government.
At its Monday's meeting, the government also passed a decision under which each family or single person affected by severe weather will receive aid worth RON 10,000. In case of loss of human lives, the family of the deceased person will get an additional RON 10,000 for each of their deceased members.
For the payment of the aid, the Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity got additional funds of RON 100 million from the Budgetary Reserve Fund at the disposal of the Government.
Six people in Romania lost their lives as a result of the floods of the past few days, and hundreds of houses were ravaged by floods in Galati and Vaslui counties.
