Net investments in the national economy in the first half of 2024 reached 80.266 billion lei, up 5.6% compared to the first six months of 2023, more than half of the amount representing new construction works, namely 47.525 billion lei, according to provisional data the National Institute of Statistics (INS) released on Wednesday, informs Agerpres.
In the second quarter of 2024, net investments in the national economy amounted to 45.759 billion lei, up 5% compared with the same period last year.
According to the INS, in the first half of the year, compared to the first semester of 2023, net investments in the national economy increased 5.6%, with growth recorded in the structural elements: other expenditures, by 71.4%, and machinery (including means of transport), by 5.5%. The decrease was recorded in the structural element new construction works, with 2.5%.
As regards the second quarter of 2024, compared to the second quarter of 2023, net investment in the national economy advanced 5.0%, with growth recorded in all structural elements: machinery (including means of transport) - by 12.0%, other investment expenditure - by 4.4% and new construction works - by 2.0%.
