Last year saw higher pays on the Romanian labor market, 25 percent more jobs and an increased interest in remote work, while 2022 is expected to add momentum to talent competition, bring new additional perks, while employees will change jobs more often, reveals a survey by online recruitment platform BestJobs, Agerpres reports.
"The tendency of Romanian employees to seek new job opportunities, digitalization and remote work have led to significant changes on the labor market in 2021. According to data available on the BestJobs platform, the number of active jobs increased by 25 percent compared to the previous year, with openings for white-collar workers accounting for more than half (56 percent) thereof. There were pay rises in all activity areas, from 16 percent in IT & Telecom to 31 percent in Sales or Marketing. The number of remote work opportunities has increased by 40 percent compared to 2020, with 1.8 million candidate applications, as well as about 30,000 searches by keyword, making 'remote' one of the most searched activities on the platform," the report says.
91 percent of BestJobs active candidates chose to know the salary for the position they were applying for right from the moment they read the ad.
2021's best paid activities included IT & Telecom with an average net salary of 1,629 euros, Medicine/Health with an average net salary of 1,433 euros and Engineering & Management, with a monthly pay of 1,200 and 1,222 euros respectively, states the BestJobs report.
Conversely, the sectors with the lowest average net salaries were Administration/Office support with 771 euros, Call Centers - with 797 euros and Tourism/HoReCa - with 879 euros.
The report anticipates the labor market to be marked this year by increased employee mobility, recruiters' challenges to attract the right candidates and the launch of new extra-wage benefits.
BestJobs is one of the major online recruitment platforms in Romania, with more than 20 years of experience in the field. At any given time, there are over 4.6 million professionals connected to the job market, over 30,000 jobs and thousands of freelancers, recruiters, coaches, mentors, therapists, lawyers and other categories of experts.
