"Ethnic Hungarians in Transylvania and Szeklerland Land have demonstrated their will for a strong
representation of Hungarians in Bucharest," Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto wrote on Facebook on Monday, MTI news agency reports.
The "fantastic" result of the ethnic Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) "guarantees a strong voice of Hungarians in Bucharest's Parliament", ensuring that "no decision about Hungarians is made without Hungarians," Szijjarto noted.
UDMR's good showing will also greatly contribute to further improving Hungary-Romania ties, the minister added.
